Turning spalted timber is like revealing hidden treasure - and our spalted beech is carefully selected to give you the chance to do just that.
Spalted patterns are always going to be different in every piece and thats what makes each one of these blanks a joy to work on. We ensure every piece has some interesting figuring.

The term 'spalting'covers a wide range of characteristics arising from fungal attack of the timber during the early stages of decay (the decay is halted when the timber is dried to a level at which there is insufficient moisture in the wood to enable the fungi to live).
We have photographed a selection of blanks to give an indication of the likely level and types of spalting within the blanks on offer. The pictures show representative samples.
Blanks are 50mm (2") thick and range from 105 to 380mm (4 to 15") diameter - please select the size from the drop down menu above. Some sizes may be out of stock at any given time but are restocked as quickly as possible - so keep checking. Larger sizes are much more difficult to obtain and therefor stocks are limited.

UK Delivery
FREE 2 day delivery on all UK mainland orders over £30.
We all work really hard to make sure your order is delivered as quickly as possible. Orders placed on-line before midday are usually dispatched the same day with UPS Standard Next Day service. This means you will usually receive your parcel the following day.
Sometimes orders take a little while to process. After all, we're dealing with a natural material, not a standardised, 'off the shelf' product. In these circumstances your order will usually be dispatched the following day on a UPS Standard Next Day service.
International Delivery
We are happy to ship orders to anywhere in the world and do so almost every day. We love seeing where our parcels go and keep a map in the office with a pin in every country to which we have shipped.
International orders are dispatched within 1 working day, with FedEx or UPS and usually take between 3-8 days to arrive depending on destination.
Any import duty or taxes are the responsibility of the customer not English Woods
Returns
We always do our very best to ensure you get exactly what you’ve ordered. If there is a problem and you're not satisfied with your order, please get in touch and let us know why. We will sort it out with either a replacement or issue a free return postage label.
You have 14 days from the date of purchase to request a free returns postage label. The goods must be complete, unused and in good resalable condition. We will then issue a refund via the original payment method used.
